The Story Of Robbery In Bojong Sari, Dozens Of Arrested Three Others Shot Dead

JAKARTA - One month ago, social media was stirred up by video footage showing an act of theft with a broken glass mode in the Bojong Sari area, Depok, West Java. Later, it was discovered that the perpetrator of the crime was a bank robbery specialist group.

Kapolda Metro Jaya, Inspector General Nana Sudjana said, from the results of police investigations, the number of perpetrators of this case reached 12 people. They were arrested in groups at two different locations. Several people were arrested in the Depok area, and others in Tangerang.

"The perpetrators were arrested in two different places, namely Depok and Tangerang within two days from June 13 and 14," Nana said in Jakarta, Friday, June 19.

This group divides tasks when in action. There are those who are looking for victims by pretending to be bank customers, following the victim of being stalked, deflating the tires of the victim's vehicle, and even becoming the executor.

In fact, this group has been recorded in action in 9 locations spread outside Jakarta. They use the same mode, namely the tire.

"They admit that there were nine crime scenes in Depok, Tangerang," said Nana.

Three were shot dead

In the process of arrest, officers were forced to shoot three suspects, BS, RR and AMT. Because, when they were about to be arrested, they fought back by shooting at the officers with homemade firearms. Meanwhile, the other 9 suspects, WA, YS, DF, DD, DD, H, T, E and S, surrendered without a fight.

"When they were arrested, they were armed with firearms and we took measured decisive action against the three perpetrators and died because they fought against the officers during case development or when they were arrested," said Nana.

Of the dozens of suspects in this group, continued Nana, there are still 3 other suspects who are still at large. They have a big role in this group, including when they stole Rp80 million in cash in their last crime.

"Regarding bank customer specialists, we are looking for three DPOs that we are currently tracking their whereabouts and among the three DPOs, namely A, AM and H," said Nana.

From the arrests of the suspects, a number of evidence was also confiscated. Among them, 3 assembled revolvers, 8 bullets, one saw, 2 files, 6 modified rubber tires with nails attached and 1 modified umbrella wire.

They were charged with layered articles, namely Article 365 KUHP, 363 KUHP and or Article 1 paragraph 1 of RI Law number 12 of 1951. Therefore, all the suspects were threatened with imprisonment of more than 5 years.

Previously, the robbers swarmed into action on Tuesday, May 5. However, their action failed because the driver of the car, Lilo, as well as the victim's driver, fought and chased the perpetrators.

Even though they managed to escape, the perpetrators did not succeed in bringing all the tens of millions of money. Because when they fled, the bag filled with it opened and the money scattered into the street.

The amount of money scattered on the streets and successfully collected amounted to Rp. 77.2 million. Meanwhile, the remaining around Rp1, 8 million were successfully captured by the perpetrators.
