Bobby Nasution Focuses On Blocking 5 Medan Districts With The Most COVID-19 Cases Aka Red Zone

MEDAN - The City Government (Pemko) of Medan, North Sumatra, is focusing on blocking five sub-districts which are the biggest "contributors" to the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases.

"The five sub-districts are Medan Selayang, Medan Helvetia, Medan Johor, Medan Sunggal and Medan Tuntungan District," said Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 10.

President Joko Widodo's son-in-law explained that the partitions in the five sub-districts would later be expanded to the kelurahan and neighborhood levels.

This is because the mayor, Bobby Nasution, admitted that in these sub-districts there are always an average of four to five houses in one neighborhood that are exposed to COVID-19.

"It only decreased briefly, then rose again and never left the red zone. So it must be ensured to separate which 'apple' is good and which 'apple' is bad," said Bobby.

Mayor Bobby Nasution said the Medan City Government had coordinated with the local Polrestabes to ensure the reduction of population mobility in the red zone environment.

His party has also requested that the five sub-districts, both through the sub-district and village heads, ensure the isolation and closure points.

"Separation at five entrances to Medan City must be tightened by tracking and testing. Everyone who enters must be swab antigen or bring an antigen rapid test letter," he said.

"If it's not too important and they don't want to be swabbed, then they are told to turn around. We have to be firm. Many people have complained and don't let the results come to fruition," said Bobby Nasution.
