JAKARTA - Interpol Indonesia's National Central Bureau (NCB) said that it deliberately did not include Harun Masiku's name on the wanted list, even though it was already on a red notice. NCB aims to accelerate arrests.

"So when we asked for it not to be published, of course with the desire to accelerate", said Former Secretary of the National Central Bureau Indonesia, Brigadier General Amur, to reporters, Tuesday, July 10.

Another reason for not showing the name Harun Masiku is because NCB thinks that if it is raised it will only take time. Because Interpol will question the reasons and the figure of Harun Masiku.

"Later Interpol Lyon as soon as they know we (ask for) to be published, they will ask us again, why is this asking to be published, is this a very big case and requires immediate handling, many will check it later, the questions that will be asked are repeated from Interpol Lyon. While what we want is acceleration", said Amur.

Another reason, continued Amur, is to maintain confidentiality. If Harun Masiku's name appears, then, it is feared that it will be used by certain parties who can interfere with the search process.

"What we want is secrecy, if the general public sees it, we are worried that something can be made up. We can take it from the website, then we can take advantage of things we don't want", he said.

According to him, not having Harun Masiku's name on the red noise list doesn't have any effect either. Most importantly, the red notice data has been spread to 124 Interpol member countries so that the search for their whereabouts will be more effective.

"So actually it's not published, it doesn't matter, because what we want the red notice to have spread at all crossings of all Interpol members. Then colleagues at the time the Interpol red notice was issued from Lyon", said Amur.

Harun Masiku was named as a suspect in giving bribes to The General Elections Commission Commissioner, Wahyu Setiawan, in January 2020. This bribery was carried out so that he could easily sit as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives through time shifts or PAW.

Harun's escape began when the KPK carried out an arrest operation regarding this case on January 8, 2020. In the silent operation, the KPK named four suspects, namely Harun Masiku, Wahyu Setiawan, former General Election Supervisory Agency Member, Agustiani Tio Fridelina, and Saeful Bahri.

It's just that Aaron, who was not caught by OTT (Hand Arrest Operation), is unknown. He reportedly fled to Singapore and is said to have returned to Indonesia.
