JAKARTA - Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti ensures that the discipline of implementing health protocols is an obligation that must be fulfilled by business actors, including traders in traditional markets. This is an effort to prevent the emergence of clusters of transmission of COVID-19.

According to him, the market is one of the locations that are prone to transmission if traders and visitors ignore health protocols, even though traders in the market have been vaccinated.

Therefore, he continued, it is very important to integrate compliance in implementing health protocols, PPKM rules and efforts to revive economic activities so that economic growth can be maintained.

As one of the traditional markets that does not sell basic necessities, Pasthy was banned from operating at the beginning of the PPKM implementation.

However, the Yogyakarta City Government then allowed the market to re-open so that the needs of plant, fish, and other pets hobbyists can still be met.

"The only thing that needs to be considered is the potential for traders to arrive from outside the area because they are prone to transmission. They are not necessarily vaccinated.
