3 Climbers On The Slopes Of Mount Ungaran Found Safe, Their Condition Is Weak

JAKARTA - Three climbers on the slopes of Mount Ungaran, Semarang Regency, Central Java, who disappeared after carrying out a ritual at Sendang Suroloyo was found safe.

Head of the Semarang SAR Office, Heru Suhartanto, in a press release in Semarang, Saturday, said the three were found in a weak condition.

"It was found around the three-way intersection of Sendang Seputon, about 8 km from Ngipik Village", he said as quoted by Antara.

Joint SAR officers then evacuated the three victims, each Roni (40), Mindiyanah (37), and Seto (50), to Ngipik Village which had to be taken about 1.5 hours from the location of the discovery.

In the search, the combined officers of about 100 people were divided into 9 teams.

With the discovery of the three survivors, said Heru, the search and rescue operation was declared closed.

Previously reported, three ritual performers at Sendang Suroloyo were reported missing after allegedly getting lost while descending the slopes of Mount Ungaran in Semarang Regency, Central Java.

The three people were reported missing after undergoing a ritual at the spring located at an altitude of about 1,000 meters above sea level on Thursday, August 5 night.

The chronology of the disappearance of the three survivors began when six people were reported to be undergoing rituals at Sendang Suroloyo.
