Wakapolri Komjen Pol Gatot Eddy Pramono: There Are Still Residents Who Don't Understand COVID-19

JAKARTA - Deputy Chief of the National Police, Komjen Pol Gatot Eddy Pramono, invites all elements of society to work together with the TNI, Polri and the Provincial Government to achieve herd immunity for the Indonesian people.

This was conveyed by Komjen Pol Gatot Eddy Pramono when reviewing the vaccination center at the DPP Syarikat Islam, Menteng District, Central Jakarta.

"We have carried out (vaccination) activities and how to make people aware. Because our community (still) there are those who do not understand COVID-19. But we have seen lately that people are very enthusiastic about taking vaccines," Komjen Pol Gatot Eddy Pramono told reporters. VOI in Menteng, Central Jakarta, Friday 6 August.

Furthermore, Komjen Gatot explained, based on his observations in several areas he visited regarding vaccines, such as West Sumatra and North Sumatra, the public's enthusiasm for vaccination was quite high. Increasing the number of people who take part in the vaccine, he continued, also the role of all parties.

The former Metro Jaya Police Chief said that what the DPP Syarikat Islam did was something that should be appreciated. Because in a pandemic like this, there should be no differences or divisions, because the current joint commitment is to stop the spread of COVID-19.

"However, the COVID-19 pandemic is not only in Indonesia but also in other countries. We need efforts, we need prayers to Allah, and our efforts and for the community can be healthier, including this vaccination," he said.

Chairman of the LTSI, Hamdan Zoelva said the vaccination center at the DPP Syarikat Islam, Menteng, Central Jakarta was a form of collaboration with the National Police which is also a shared responsibility for handling the COVID-19 pandemic.

"In a day, 1,000 residents are targeted to be vaccinated. It will be done in stages," he said.
