JAKARTA - The number of residents of North Penajam Paser Regency (PPU), East Kalimantan who were tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) this Wednesday increased by 107 people.

"With the addition of 107 positives, the total positive at PPU will be 3.240", said PPU Regency's spokesman for the Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling, Dr. Jansje Grace Makisurat, in Penajam, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, August 4.

In addition, today there were also 3 additional positive patients who died, bringing the total death toll from COVID-19 to 127 cases.

"Today, there are also 106 additional patients who have been declared isolated because they have recovered, bringing the total recovered to 2.317 people", she said.

With a total of 3.240 positive people and 2.317 recoveries, the recovery rate for COVID-19 patients at PPU is 71.51 percent, up 0.94 percent compared to the previous day which was recorded at 70.57 percent.

The development per sub-district of the total positive which was 3.240 people was in Penajam District there were still 316 positive, 1.400 people recovered, and 58 people died.

Then in Waru Subdistrict, there were 97 positive people, 260 people recovered, 14 people died. In Babulu District, 182 people were positive, 239 people were declared cured, and 19 people died.

Next, in Sepaku District, there are 201 positive people, 418 people have recovered, and 36 people have died.

He continued, today there were also 105 additional suspected cases of COVID-19, bringing the total suspects from March 22, 2020, to August 4, 2021, to 4.867 cases.

"The development of a total of 4.867 suspects is that there are 4 people who are self-isolating, 7 people are hospitalized, 25 people have died with comorbidities, the rest have become positive and many have recovered", said Grace.
