One Mi-17 Helicopter Accident Victim Died After One Week Being Hospitalized

JAKARTA - A victim of the Mi-17 Penerbad helicopter accident, Lettu Cpn Vira Yudha died after being treated intensively for a week at Kariadi Hospital, Semarang, Central Java. This TNI soldier was pronounced dead on Saturday night, June 13 at 20:10 WIB.

Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad) Brigadier General Nefra Firdaus said Lettu Vira was an officer who graduated from the Magelang Military Academy in 2013.

Lettu Vira, continued Nefra, was a flight officer II Siud Heli Serbu I, Flite Heli B in Squadron 31 / Serbu Penerbad based at Ahmad Yani Lanumad, Semarang.

"The deceased was one of the crew members who became victims when the Mi-17 helicopter they were on had an accident and crashed around the industrial area of Kendal, Central Java on Saturday, June 6," Nefra said in a written statement on Sunday, June 14.

When found after the accident, Vira was in a safe condition but suffered serious injuries and was immediately evacuated to H. Soewondo Hospital, Kendal. Then, Vira was transferred to the ICU Room at RSUP dr. Kariadi, Semarang to get further treatment.

The body of Lettu Vira is currently buried in TMB Bergota II Kalipancur, Semarang. "Let's pray that the deceased's spirit will be accepted by God Almighty," said Nefra.

Previously reported, Vira had burns about 23 percent on the surface of his skin. In addition, Vira also suffered severe head injuries and had a decreased kidney condition.

It is known, Lettu Cpn Vira Yudha Bagus Senastri, STHan, was born in Madiun, April 7, 1988. After completing high school education in 2010 Vira Yudha enrolled and was accepted as an Akmil cadet. The deceased left a wife, Putri Leni Mard Alliancewi, and a son, Vira Yudha Gerald Alfaridzi, who was only 2 years old.
