Anies Admits That He Cannot Yet See The Impact Of The Transitional PSBB In Jakarta

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan admitted that he still could not see the impact of the Transitional Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) on changes in the number of positive COVID-19 patients and the rate of transmission (reproductive rate) of the virus.

The transitional PSBB has been running for 9 days, starting from 5 June until today. Anies said the COVID-19 data that came out for the last 9 days did not reflect the transitional PSBB conditions.

"Epidemiological data is not like the water level. If the water level is changed every hour. Because every time a figure comes out today, actually it was an incident 10 days ago, 2 weeks ago," said Anies in the Ancol area, Jakarta. North, Saturday, June 13.

The former Minister of Education and Culture said, data on the development of COVID-19 that occurred in one day could only be monitored and began to be evaluated after 2 weeks.

"Just like if we decided yesterday to extend the PSBB for the Transitional Period, it uses data that runs for 2 months. From there we then see the trend. So, it's not just daily events," explained Anies.

Judging from the official website of Pemporv DKI corona.jakarta.go.id, the addition of new corona virus cases in DKI has increased since the beginning of the transition PSBB was implemented. On the first day of the transitional PSBB, namely 5 June, there were 84 new cases.

Then, on June 6, new cases increased by 102 cases, June 7 increased by 160 cases, June 8 increased 91 cases, June 9 increased 239 cases, June 10 increased 147 cases, June 11 increased 129 cases, June 12 increased 76 cases , and today added 120 cases.

Furthermore, Anies said, it is irrelevant when dividing each area in Jakarta into red, orange, yellow, or green zones. Because he said, all areas in Jakarta still have the same risk of transmission.

The mention of areas into the zones of the spread of the corona, according to him, only makes the public underestimate the corona virus prevention protocol because they consider the area a safe zone.

"In my opinion, it is no longer relevant to call Jakarta a red zone or any other zone because in fact everything is still at risk. So, don't give the impression that I am a safe place because it is not a red zone. In fact, in fact everywhere there are still risks," he concluded.
