PPKM Level 3, Central Bangka Not Worried About Holding Pilkades Simultaneously In 7 Villages

BABEL - The Central Bangka Regency Government, Bangka Belitung Islands Province continues to hold village head elections (pilkades) amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Central Bangka has determined PPKM level 3, it is still possible to carry out the village head election by complying with PPKM rules and very strict health protocols," said Central Bangka Regent Algafry Rahman in Koba as quoted by Antara, Friday, July 30. Simultaneous Pilkades are planned to be held in seven villages on August 7, 2021.

"We have coordinated with the COVID-19 Task Force and I asked for a review of the seven villages that will hold the Pilkades," he said.

The regent asked that from now on start socializing related to the implementation of the Pilkades in seven villages by strictly adhering to PPKM rules and health protocols.

"I also ask the sub-district to help disseminate information to the community regarding the Pilkades in the midst of a pandemic. Do not let health protocol violations occur during the Pilkades," he said.

The former chairman of the Central Bangka DPRD asked for more thorough preparations by intensifying socialization and coordination so that the Pilkades could be carried out with standard health protocols.

"Pikades in seven villages is indeed quite difficult because it is carried out in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, in fact we involve cross-sectoral to monitor the Pilkades," he said.
