JAKARTA - Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, asked the Secretariat General of the House of Representatives to re-evaluate the plan to provide centralized isolation facilities (isoman) for COVID-19 patients who come from this legislative institution.

"Looking at the current conditions, there is no need to provide centralized isolation facilities specifically for employees, equipment, or members of the DPR RI," said Puan in a statement in Jakarta, Friday, July 30.

Puan asked the Secretary General of the DPR RI to immediately coordinate with the COVID-19 Handling Task Force for the provision of health facilities and other public facilities that provide centralized isolation.

This, according to him, is to anticipate the health care needs of COVID-19 patients who work for the legislative body every day.

"So if there are COVID-19 patients from employees, devices or members of the Indonesian House of Representatives who experience worsening conditions, they can be immediately resolved," he said.

Previously, the Secretariat General of the DPR RI issued Circular Number SJ/09596/SETJEN DPR RI/DA/07/2021 which contained information related to the provision of self-isolation facilities for DPR members who were positively exposed to COVID-19 without symptoms or mild symptoms.

The quarantine/self-isolation facility is intended for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives, staff, and ASN within the DPR who are confirmed positive for COVID-19.

This isoman facility is provided in two three-star hotels in Jakarta, namely the Ibis Hotel on Jalan Daan Mogot and Hotel Oasis on Jalan Senen Raya.
