At First Cough And Dizziness, Batam Residents Died Allegedly After Receiving 2 Doses Of Vaccine At Once

BATAM - A resident of Batam City, Riau Islands, who allegedly received two COVID-19 vaccines on the same day, Harjito (49) died after being treated for six days.

Head of RT01/04 Bepede Housing, Ery Syahrial, stated that Harjito received the COVID-19 vaccine on July 11, 2021, in the vaccination program held by Apindo.

"That night, he informed the residents. His body condition was not good", said Ery representing his family in Batam, quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 29.

In his story with residents, Harjito admitted that he did not realize when he received the vaccine for the first time. He just felt rubbed, and then received a second injection.

"He realized he had received two doses of the vaccine after receiving a letter from the doctor", said Erry.

In a handwritten letter signed by the doctor, it was stated that Harjito had received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine by different vaccinators. The letter provides advice, if there are complaints, then please notify the doctor. The letter also included the doctor's telephone number.

On July 15, according to Erry, Harjito's condition worsened due to coughing, vomiting, dizziness, and acid reflux. Harjito also called the doctor's phone number, but there was no response.

The family took him to the hospital on July 22. However, his condition worsened and he died on July 28.

Ery said that when he died, Harjito tested positive for COVID-19. In fact, before the vaccine, his health condition was good, even passing the initial examination before the injection.

"Until now, the Health Officer and the Task Force have not come. We, the family, only need experts to explain", he said.

Meanwhile, when they were about to be confirmed, Doctor Ca, whose name and phone number were listed in the certificate, did not answer the phone. The doctor also did not answer the application message sent by Antara.

The head of the Riau Islands Indonesian Doctors Association, Rusdani, who was contacted by Antara asked to confirm the incident to a lung specialist, Sianturi.

When he was about to be confirmed, Doctor Sianturi said he was still waiting for an explanation from Doctor Ca.
