BANDUNG - The West Java (Jabar) Provincial Government will turn schools and Islamic boarding schools into vaccination centers in August 2021.
Through the addition of the vaccination center, West Java Governor M Ridwan Kamil hopes that herd immunity will be achieved more quickly. To achieve herd immunity, 70 percent of West Java's population must have been vaccinated.
"Starting in August, we have prepared schools and Islamic boarding schools to be used as vaccination sites", said Kang Emil, Ridwan Kamil's nickname, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 27.
The governor explained that schools and Islamic boarding schools were effective in accelerating the West Java vaccination target.

Ridwan Kamil asked the ulema and religious leaders to calm the public so that the social situation in West Java remained safe and conducive.
