Stepanus KPK Investigator 'Case Broker' Admits Receiving Rp500 Million From Cimahi Mayor Ajay Muhammad

JAKARTA - Former investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) from the police, Stepanus Robin Pattuju admitted that he received money from Cimahi Mayor Ajay Muhammad Priatna.

This confession was conveyed in the trial for alleged bribery to stop the handling of cases with the inactive Tanjungbalai Mayor M Syahrial. The trial took place at the Medan Corruption Court (Tipikor) on Monday, July 26 yesterday.

During the trial, Stepanus, who is a suspect in receiving bribes, answered questions from the KPK Public Prosecutor (JPU) during the trial.

"Regarding the reception from the Mayor of Cimahi?" asked the prosecutor in court.

"Yes," answered Stepanus.

The prosecutor then asked how much money had been received from Ajay, the accused of bribery for the hospital project. At the question, Stepanus admitted to receiving hundreds of millions.

"A total of Rp 500 million," he said.

Furthermore, the prosecutor also asked about the receipt of other money by Stepanus. Including from Aliza Gunado who is now prevented from going abroad because he is involved in the bribery case handling cases at the KPK.

However, Stepanus admitted that he did not receive any money. Likewise when asked about the acceptance of the Lampung case.

However, when asked about the receipt of money from the Regent of Kutai Kartanegara Rita Widyasari, Stepanus admitted it. However, the Prosecutor and Stepanus both did not specify the amount of money received.

"From Rita (Widyasari) according to the contract with Maskur, there is Maskur the lawyer," concluded Stepanus.
