Head Of Russian FSB: Joe Biden Can Increase Tensions, US Presidential Election Does Not Change Policies Radically

JAKARTA - Head of the Russian Federal Security Agency (FSB) Alexander Bortnikov warned Washington could not change its foreign policy after Donald Trump's election for president in the election earlier this month, while President Joe Biden's incumbent team could increase global tensions to the highest level.

"The new US presidential election is unlikely to cause radical changes in Washington's foreign policy," he said, launching TASS November 26.

That was said by Bortnikov in the meeting of the 20 heads of security and intelligence agencies of the Commonwealth of Independent Countries (CIS), which are currently underway in Moscow.

"In addition, there is a possibility that, as part of a domestic political battle, Biden's team that will leave will seek to increase the situation as much as possible in the Eurasian region which is key to America, especially in post-Soviet countries, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia," he said.

"Their main goal is to complicate the choice of the next government to solve the mounting problem," he added.

According to the head of the FSB, the United States, Britain and its allies will continue to seek to openly interfere in allied relations within CIS, hinder the integration process, and undermine our joint efforts to ensure security and stability throughout the Commonwealth.

"There's no doubt, we all have to be ready to face any kind of provocation," concluded Bortnikov.
