PPKM Level 4 Extended, KRL Passengers Still Must Bring STRP Or Appropriate Documents

JAKARTA - KAI Commuter still requires Jabodetabek KRL passengers to have a worker registration certificate (STRP) in extending the PPKM Level 4 period starting today until August 2, 2021.

In addition to STRP, users can also show a letter of assignment from the company leadership or a statement of urgent need from the RT-TW when entering the train station.

"Currently KRL users are required to have one of the required documents for traveling with KRL, namely STRP; a letter of assignment from their place of work; or a certificate that is suitable for users with urgent needs," said VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter Anne Purba in her statement, Monday, 26 July.

Ownership of STRP or letter of assignment for KRL users refers to the rules during PPKM Level 4, where only essential and critical sector workers are allowed to work outside the home.

Meanwhile, KRL users who have urgent needs may travel for medical or medical purposes, childbirth, mourning, or going to vaccination locations.

"For public health and safety, KRL still only serves users in essential and critical sectors, as well as people with urgent needs in accordance with applicable regulations," said Anne.

Then, there are additional activities and business sectors that are allowed to operate during the extension of this Level 4 PPKM. These include people's markets, street vendors, grocery stores, voucher agents or outlets, barbershops, laundry, small workshops, hawkers, vehicle washes, and other small businesses. Furthermore, food stalls, street vendors, hawker stalls, and the like.

Anne said that workers in this sector still need a similar letter. "Workers in the business sector who have been permitted by the government to re-open with strict health protocols are also requested by us to prepare appropriate documents and travel requirements," he said.

Starting today, KAI Commuter runs 982 KRL trips per day operating from 04.00-22.00 WIB. KAI Commuter limits the number of KRL users on each train or carriage at one time, which is 52 people from the capacity of each train.

Then, users are also required to use double masks with medical masks covered with cloth masks as recommended by the Ministry of Health, or use N95, KN95, or KF94 types of masks without the need for duplicates.

Users are also expected to wash their hands before and after boarding the KRL using the additional handwashing facilities at stations.
