Central Bangka Regency Government Turns Official To Legislators Houses Into COVID-19 Patient Quarantine Locations

BABEL - The Central Bangka Regency Government, Bangka Belitung Islands Province has made official residences a place for quarantine of patients exposed to COVID-19.

"Some official houses of echelon officials and official houses of legislators have been used as quarantine places to facilitate medical supervision and monitoring", said Central Bangka Regent Algafry Rahman in Koba, quoted from Antara, Friday, July 23.

He made several official houses as quarantine places for COVID-19 patients to anticipate the soaring number of COVID-19 cases. A total of 11 quarantine houses that have been prepared previously are also full.

"We made the official house a place of quarantine with various considerations, including its location far from residential areas and in one area (complex, ed.), making it easier for the medical team to monitor the patient's condition and to respond to other quarantine houses being full", he said.

Regent Algafry Rahman said all quarantine house facilities would be equipped, including a new quarantine house.

"Of course we will complete the facilities, especially medical equipment, the availability of medical personnel, and other facilities for patients who are being treated", he said.

The Acting Head of the Central Bangka Health Office, Zaitun, said the number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus was 3.608 people, of whom 2.996 have been declared cured and 554 patients are still being treated.

Based on the data, 58 patients were declared dead or there was an increase from the previous 53 people.
