Australian Government Critics George Floyd's Citizen Solidarity Action

JAKARTA - The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement is expanding. Saturday, June 6, 20,000 Australians spread across cities like Sydney took to the streets against racism. However, the movement was criticized by the government.

Mathias Cormann, Minister of Finance of the Kangaroo Country, called the action reckless and irresponsible. Cormann is worried that this action will become a major transmission or new cluster of the corona virus in Australia.

"I think this is very selfish," said Cormann, we quoted Reuters on Monday, June 8.

As Minister of Finance, Cormann highlighted the economic catastrophe that could emerge from the emergence of a new COVID-19 cluster. Today, many Australians have lost their jobs.

In addition, socially, Australians also miss the opportunity to attend the funeral of their relatives and family. And for him, all the suffering need not be any worse.

"But we are instead having mass gatherings with tens of thousands of people. They are breaking the rules that should apply to everyone. That's totally reckless and irresponsible," he said.

So far Australia has confirmed 7,257 cases of COVID-19 transmission. Among them, there were 102 cases died. The policy owner also calls for Australians to stay at home temporarily and comply with rules regarding association permits for small groups.
