15 Brawl Actors At Setiabudi Mangosteen Market Arrested, Arrest Is Allegedly Due To Firecrackers

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Metro Police Team arrested 15 people who were suspected of being the perpetrators of bidding at the Setiabudi Manggis Market.

Head of Operational Section of the South Jakarta Metro Police AKBP Ruslan Idris said 15 perpetrators were undergoing intensive examination.

"There are already, they are being investigated. There are 15 people. They are still being investigated and processed", said AKBP Ruslan Idris, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 21.

Ruslan said that the alleged perpetrators did not only come from the Mangosteen Market. However, he did not elaborate further on where the perpetrators came from.

"Some are from outside, some are around there", said Ruslan.

He also said that investigators had not secured any evidence from the scene. "Nothing like that yet", he said.

The initial suspicion that the cause of the brawl involving youths from different Rukun Warga was triggered by a firecracker explosion. "The information is that there were firecrackers, it was because of the explosion of firecrackers", he said.

The same thing was conveyed by a member of Karang Taruna RW 11, Fajar Risky, who said that the brawl was triggered by the explosion of firecrackers.

"Actually, this started from the new year yesterday, yes, because there was an explosion of firecrackers, then on the night of Takbiran, it was the same. Only this is worse than the previous one", said Fajar.

Previously, a brawl between youth groups occurred in RW 11 and RW 02, Pasar Manggis Village, South Jakarta, Tuesday, July 20 afternoon.
