Allahu Akbar! Anies Baswedan Sends Prayers For Health Workers And Jihad Officers On The Frontlines Of COVID-19

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the implementation of this year's Eid al-Adha was held in a situation of concern and limitations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, Anies still believes that all forms of sincere worship will still receive the best rewards even though they are carried out in a different atmosphere.

"This is an effort that we still have to do together and we hope that Allah SWT will replace this long sacrifice with something better, God willing", said Anies, quoted from the DKI Provincial Government Youtube video, Tuesday, July 20.

Anies himself highlighted the courage of health workers and other officers who continue to carry out productive activities despite the current difficult situation.

He also expressed his own appreciation to those who continue to struggle in carrying out their duties even though they are quite risky in facing COVID-19.

"May Allah SWT honors His armies, that is, glorify those who are fighting on the front lines against this pandemic, health workers, officers in the field, those who work in essential sectors, work in basic sectors, critical sectors that support daily life all of us", he said.

Anies also briefly mentioned the simple Eid celebration to suppress the transmission of COVID-19 as recommended by the government. However, he judged that it would not reduce the true meaning of worship in the slightest.

"When we echo the Takbir in our respective homes, let's absorb its meaning, let's agree with the prayers contained in it. Takbir means there is no god but Allah with His oneness. He who keeps his promises, He who helps His servants, who glorify His armies, and flees the enemy with His oneness", said Anies.

"May Allah lifts the trials of this pandemic from the face of the earth, only to Him we ask, only to Him we depend on. La ilaaha illallaahu wallahu akbar. Allahu akbar walillah ilham", concluded the Governor of DKI Jakarta.
