Aceh Governor Orders Satpol PP-Wilayatul Hisbah Humanis During PPKM Operation

BANDA ACEH - Aceh Governor Nova Iriansyah ordered the Civil Service Police Unit and the Aceh Wilayatul Hisbah to prioritize humanist and persuasive steps in order to support the enforcement of PPKM in Aceh.

"The order is contained in the Instruction of the Governor (Ingub) of Aceh Number 13/INSTR/2021 concerning Controlling the Implementation of PPKM in Aceh issued on Sunday 19 July 2021," said the Head of Public Communications for the Aceh COVID-19 Task Force, Muhammad Iswanto in Banda Aceh, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 19.

Iswanto explained that the instruction was to support the implementation of PPKM in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 while still prioritizing the health and safety of the people.

"The Aceh Governor instructed the Head of the Civil Service Police Unit and the Aceh Wilayatul Hisbah to prioritize professional, humanist and persuasive steps in the implementation of PPKM," said Iswanto.

According to him, these instructions should be implemented by Satpol PP at the stage of controlling the implementation of PPKM, as stipulated in the Instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) and Ingub Aceh regarding PPKM.

Furthermore, in the instruction, Governor Nova also asked Satpol PP to enforce strict but polite and sympathetic law/discipline for people who violate the PPKM provisions and are prohibited from using violence that has the potential to lead to law violations.

"The Satpol PP is also asked to continue to synergize with the ranks of the TNI/Polri and other related Forkopimda elements," said Iswanto.

Iswanto also said that the basis for the issuance of the Governor's Instruction was a Circular Letter of the Minister of Home Affairs on Controlling the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) and Accelerating Vaccination for the Community.
