KPK Asked To Uncover Other Cases Involving Former Secretary Of The Supreme Court Nurhadi

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has been asked to uncover another case involving former Secretary of the Supreme Court (MA) Nurhadi. He is a fugitive in the case of alleged bribery and gratification worth Rp46 billion who has already been caught.

Former KPK Commissioner Bambang Widjojanto said it was impossible for Nurhadi to be only involved in the alleged bribery and gratuity case. Given that he has a high position in the Supreme Court.

"Between 2011 and 2016, Pak Nurhadi held a high enough position until he was declared a suspect and a fugitive. If you look at his position, I do not believe that these cases (which ensnare) are only those two cases," said Bambang in a discussion broadcast on his account Facebook Friends of ICW, Friday, June 5.

This is because this case originated from a hand-held operation (OTT) which eventually caught a conglomerate and a number of cases were later revealed, such as buying and selling shares, trusts and land disputes.

"Those trivial cases of guardianship have entered. This means, if you want to trace the case from A to Z," he said.

Bambang said that the KPK could enter into a wider case investigation through Nurhadi's examination.

"There will be so many cases involved from people being investigated by the KPK, who have already been arrested by the KPK," he said.

Bambang's confidence increased because Nurhadi was the Secretary of the Supreme Court who had frequent contact with many parties. Bambang is sure that many people have come to Nurhadi to ask for help. When the allegations were true, Bambang said, Nurhadi's safety could be threatened.

"I am worried about Nurhadi's safety. Because many people cannot sleep, many people have cold sweat all over their bodies. Because if Nurhadi sings, the sheet music will touch the musical notes in this country," he said.

In the same discussion, Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) researcher Kurnia Ramadhana asked the KPK not only to investigate the case that ensnared Nurhadi. The KPK, he said, had to investigate the person suspected of protecting Nurhadi as long as he was included in the KPK's wanted list (DPO) since last February.

"There is an allegation that Nurhadi has asked for protection. Actually, who was this person and how was the involvement of this person who was suspected of protecting Nurhadi?" said Kurnia.

Kurnia suspected that Nurhadi was not alone when he fled. He needed someone to help him during his hiding. "Changing places, someone must have come down to help Nurhadi hide," he said.

Previously, the KPK arrested Nurhadi and Riezky at their safe house on Jalan Simprug Golf No.1, Grogol Selatan, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. The arrest, which was led by Novel Baswedan, was carried out after the KPK received information from the public who knew the position of the two.

The activity was carried out at 9:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1. After being arrested, Nurhadi and Riezky were then taken to the KPK's Red and White House for further investigation. Apart from arresting the two of them, the anti-graft agency investigating team also brought Nurhadi's wife, Tin Zuraida.

Tin was also secured by KPK investigators because he was never present when he was examined as a witness in the case that ensnared his husband and son-in-law.

After carrying out the investigation, Nurhadi and Riezky were then detained for 20 days from June 2 to June 21 at the KPK Rutan Kavling C1.
