Pertamina's New Normal Protocol: At SPBU, Four-Wheeled Users Try Not To Get Down

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) has prepared a protocol or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) at the Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) in order to face a new era of normality. This protocol applies to workers, customers, suppliers and operational partners at gas stations.

VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, said that the new normal protocol at SPBU is an improvement of the COVID-19 anticipation protocol that has been implemented at all Pertamina gas stations. Among other things, this protocol is applied to gas station officers, such as the obligation to use masks and gloves and check body temperature.

"We also implement the obligation to maintain a safe distance between gas station officers and customers and between customers. In addition, we also provide additional vitamins to gas station officers to increase endurance and maintain their health," said Fajriyah in a written statement quoted on Thursday 4. June.

In addition, cleaning and spraying disinfectants are also carried out on a regular basis, starting from fuel dispensers to toilet facilities and prayer rooms at gas stations. Later, all these protocols will continue to be socialized massively to more than 7,000 Pertamina gas stations spread throughout Indonesia.

Regarding the new standard operating procedures (SOP) for filling fuel at gas stations, Fajriyah revealed, for fuel filling services, several updates were also carried out, including those related to safe distances.

Especially for two-wheeled vehicle customers, later they are required to get off the motorbike and stand next to the motorbike that is opposite the operator's position.

As for four-wheeled customers, it will be recommended to stay in the car or if needed to get out of the car, they are required to stand on the side of the car while maintaining a minimum safe distance of 1 meter from the gas station officer. Customers are also advised to keep wearing masks in accordance with government regulations.

To simplify payment transactions and reduce the risk of being exposed to the COVID-19 virus by transferring money between customers and gas station officers, Pertamina will recommend cashless payments through the MyPertamina application.

"For cash payment transactions, it is recommended to use the exact currency according to the transaction value and gas station officers and customers must maintain a minimum distance of 1 meter or according to the signs to be prepared," said Fajriyah.

Fajriyah added that the implementation of the service scheme in this new era of normality is in accordance with the direction of the Minister of BUMN through letter number S-336 / MBU / 05/2020 on May 15, 2020 regarding the Anticipation of the BUMN New Normal Scenario.

"Pertamina continues to support the government's strategic steps in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic. We are also making various adjustments from both human and technological aspects to ensure that fuel and LPG services to the community run smoothly and well," concluded Fajriyah.
