BANDUNG - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil visited quarantine sites in West Bandung Regency and Bandung City and encouraged residents who were undergoing self-isolation due to COVID-19.

"Today I visited several self-isolated patients because more than 70 percent of COVID-19 in West Java is not in hospitals but in people's homes. We make sure these houses get attention from local officials to the central government level," he said. The governor, who is usually called Kang Emil, was in Bandung, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, July 14.

The governor also distributed aid for drugs and vitamins to residents undergoing self-isolation (isoman) and conveyed the provincial government's plan to lend oxygen cylinders to COVID-19 sufferers in need.

"We have distributed free medicine to isoman patients for the past seven days. Then we plan to borrow oxygen cylinders, we have processed them," he said.

"Tomorrow Pak Jokowi will also release free medicine for isoman throughout Java-Bali. And hopefully with free medicine, oxygen can also be fulfilled, plus we in the province have teleconsultation for those who ask questions, are confused, hopefully isoman patients will recover more a lot and reduce fatalities," he explained.

The Governor of West Java asked village and sub-district heads to diligently check the condition of residents who are undergoing independent isolation so that treatment can be carried out quickly if there are COVID-19 sufferers whose condition worsens while undergoing self-isolation.

"I hope that starting today in West Java there will be no more deaths in their homes because if there is a deterioration, they will immediately be referred to the hospital for follow-up," said Kang Emil.
