JAKARTA - The Surabaya City Government hopes that the vaccination program they held at the Gelora November Stadium, Surabaya, will be followed by its citizens. But what happened was the opposite.

Until the fifth day of the mass vaccination program, the participants were dominated by company employees from outside the city.

"I gave it back because we are vaccinating employees who work in Surabaya," said Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi while monitoring the mass vaccination at G10N, Saturday, July 10.

Eri regretted that the vaccination program at G10N, which entered its fifth day, had been used by company employees who did not live or work in Surabaya. This means that they are non-KTP Surabaya residents who work for companies outside the region. The officer asked the employee to return.

From the results of the officer's assessment, Mayor Eri said, several employees admitted that the company had a branch office in Surabaya. It's just that the head office is outside the area. Meanwhile, all employees at the head office were included in mass vaccination at G10N Surabaya.

"I will call this company, that's not how it works. This vaccine is for Surabaya people, or people (non-Surabaya ID cards) who live and work in Surabaya," he said.

The former Head of the Surabaya City Development Planning Agency (Bappeko) regretted the attitude taken by companies outside the area. Eri hopes that every company in Surabaya can maintain the trust and trust that has been given.

"We give you the trust, please protect it. Don't be like that. If the company's head office is there (outside Surabaya), please ask the local government for a vaccine, not in Surabaya. I have to protect the people of Surabaya, who work in Surabaya," he said. .

Therefore, Mayor Eri again reminded companies whose branch offices are in Surabaya to file an official letter first before enrolling their employees for vaccines in G10N. This is because the mass vaccination in G10N is prioritized for residents of Surabaya or outside the area who work or live in the City of Heroes.
