Warkop And Malls In Banda Aceh Are Open Until 21.00, While Mosques, Churches And Temples May Operate But...

ACEH - Forkopimda Banda Aceh City has begun to limit the operation of coffee shops to shopping centers (malls) until 21.00 WIB. This restriction is a follow-up to the implementation of Micro Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM).

"The implementation of activities at shopping centers, trade, restrictions on operating hours until 21.00 WIB," said Banda Aceh Mayor Aminullah Usman in Banda Aceh as reported by Antara, Saturday, July 10.

The enactment of this policy is based on the results of the local Forkopimda meeting as outlined in the Banda Aceh Mayor's Instruction Number 8 of 2021 concerning the extension of the implementation of Micro PPKM and optimization of the COVID-19 handling post at the gampong (village) level.

Aminullah said the policy applies to places to eat and drink such as restaurants, cafes/coffee shops, street vendors and hawker stalls, both in separate locations and in shopping centers.

For food delivery services or to take home no later than 22.00 WIB. Furthermore, restaurants that only serve delivery can operate 24 hours.

"The implementation of activities in these provisions must be carried out by implementing more stringent health protocols," he said.

Then, continued Aminullah, regarding the implementation of worship activities in mosques, prayer rooms, churches, temples and monasteries as well as other places of worship, it can still be carried out, but with the implementation of health protocols more strictly until the area in question is declared safe by the Banda Aceh Government.

"Especially for mosques, prayer rooms and other Muslim places of worship, it is guided by the Taushiyah of the Aceh Ulama Consultative Council (MPU) Number 4 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Worship and Religious Social Activities in Emergency Conditions," Aminullah said.

In addition, Aminullah continued, regarding the implementation of qurban worship on the upcoming Eid al-Adha, it is also mandatory to implement strict health protocols, by avoiding crowds.

"The committee and parties involved in the implementation of the qurban will be required to be free from the transmission of COVID-19," he said.
