Banjarbaru Police Legal Process 16 Airplane Passengers Bring PCR Test Letters And Fake Vaccines

BANJARBURU - The Banjarbaru Police carried out legal proceedings against 16 prospective passengers on a plane at Syamsudin Noor International Airport, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan who brought a certificate of COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test results and fake vaccine certificates.

"Now the team is conducting an investigation to explore these findings," said Banjarbaru Police Chief AKBP Doni Hadi Santoso, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 9.

He emphasized that if the results of the investigation meet the criminal element, then the status will be upgraded to the investigation stage and then there will be the determination of the suspect.

"All relevant parties, including officers at the airport, examined documents, we asked for their statements. Likewise, hospitals or clinics whose names were used for PCR documents," said Doni.

The finding of the fake PCR letter and vaccine certificate occurred on Wednesday, July 7, at Syamsudin Noor International Airport, Banjarmasin. There were 16 prospective passengers who were caught by officers showing the fake documents, so they were not allowed to fly.

Meanwhile, Head of the Banjarmasin Port Health Office (KKP) Ruslan Fajar said that when his officers validated domestic travel documents, they found a PCR examination result letter and a fake certificate of vaccination of prospective passengers.

"Our officers confirmed to the hospitals and health centers listed in the document, it was found that they never issued the letter," he said.

It is known that of the 16 prospective passengers, 10 of them were headed for Manado's Sam Ratulangi International Airport with a transit at Makassar Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport. While the rest are for Juanda International Airport, Surabaya.
