Bobby Nasution Ensures Availability Of Oxygen Cylinders In Medan Is Safe

MEDAN - The Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, ensures that the availability of oxygen cylinders in his area is safe. Bobby's affirmation was related to the lack of oxygen cylinders in a number of areas in Indonesia.

Bobby Nasution said the availability of oxygen cylinders was aligned with the availability of the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) at the COVID-19 referral hospital.

For him, if there is an increase in BOR, of course, more oxygen cylinders will be needed.

"The stock (oxygen cylinders) is safe, we have checked with our hospital, the private sector is safe. This is directly proportional to the BOR. If the BOR increases, of course, the demand will increase, the stock must have decreased slightly. But for today we still have a lot of stock in all hospitals", said Bobby Nasution, Monday, July 5.

Bobby Nasution was reluctant to comment on the news of the increase in the price of oxygen cylinders in Java. For him, the most important thing is to always ensure the availability of oxygen cylinders in the hospital.

"If we buy today, of course this will cause turmoil, so we always count. For example at Pirngadi Hospital before COVID the stock was 100 (tubes), during the COVID period it was increased 100 percent to 200 tubes", he continued.

Bobby Nasution ensured that he would continue to calculate the availability of oxygen cylinders at 60 COVID-19 referral hospitals in Medan. He hoped that the number of the spread of the corona virus in Medan would continue to decline.

"Today so far, the stock has never run out, don't let it run out. This calculation in 60 COVID referral hospitals continues to be monitored. Not only oxygen, but also rooms", said Bobby.

"Yesterday we had 75 percent of our BOR but there was no shortage of oxygen. Hopefully, our BOR will not increase again", he continued.

Currently, said Bobby Nasution, the BOR rate in Medan City is stable at 36 percent. For the isolation room and ICU reached 46 percent.

"Our fatality rate today is 3.6 percent. The positive rate is a bit high, around 27 percent. That's for the last 2 weeks, because we take it every 2 weeks", he said.
