JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate, led the Persada Pertiwi Ceremony at the funeral of the Minister of Information of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 1983-1997, H. Harmoko, at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery, South Jakarta, Monday 5 July.
Representing the government, Minister Johnny acted as inspector of ceremonies. He accompanied the body of the former Minister of Information and Chairman of the 10th Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly with a tenure of 1997-1999, along with the Chairman of the Honorary Council of the Golkar Party, Akbar Tanjung, and the deceased's family.
Before the Minister of Information Harmoko was buried, the Minister of Communication and Information read out the Persada Ceremony. "I am the Minister of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, on behalf of the state, nation and the Indonesian National Army, hereby present to the people of Mother Earth, the soul, and services of the late H. Harmoko, former Minister of Information of the Republic of Indonesia in the era of the Development Cabinet, son of the late Mr. Samirun Prawiro", he said, as in a press release released by Antara.
Minister Johnny assessed that the late Harmoko was one of the nation's best sons with the Mahaputra star award.
He continued, currently there are still many lessons passed down by the deceased to the next generation of the nation to be continued and developed, especially the big family of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics.
Johnny reminisced about the years of service of the deceased and appreciated his role, as well as his dedication to society and the country during his tenure as Minister of Information. “Of course, as the next generation of the nation, we remember the good things and ideas. Therefore, it is fitting for us to continue and imitate the dedication and work that he gave during his life for Indonesia", said Johnny G. Plate.
After reading the Persada Pertiwi ceremony, the Minister of Communication and Informatics sprinkled flowers as a sign of respect for the late Mr. Harmoko. Previously, the bodies were put into the grave accompanied by salvo shots.
“The Kominfo big family expresses their deepest condolences and prays with the highest hopes, that his soul will have a proper place with God the Creator in Heaven. Hopefully, the Dharma Bakti path that he has taken can become a role model for all of us and his soul will have its rightful place in the afterlife", he said to the family of the late Minister of Information, Harmoko.
