JAKARTA - A resident of Karang Ampar Village, Ketol District, Central Aceh Regency, died from being trampled by a wild elephant.

A member of the Karang Ampar-Bergang Flora Fauna Security Team (TPFF), Masmiko, said the victim's name was Abdurrahman (50).

"The victim died Sunday, July at around 2.00 WIB after being critical and undergoing intensive treatment at the Datu Beru Takengon Hospital," said Masmiko in Central Aceh, as reported by Antara, Sunday, July 4.

Masmiko said the victim had been undergoing treatment at the Datu Beru Takengon Hospital since Saturday, July 3 after being trampled by a wild elephant. The victim suffered serious injuries all over his body due to the tantrum of the large animal.

"The victim was trampled by a wild elephant on Saturday, July 3 at around 12.00 WIB. The victim was taken to the hospital. His condition was severe, his right leg was broken, he also broke his back ribs, he also had wounds on his head", said Masmiko.

Masmiko said the victim was trampled by a wild elephant while trying to escort a wild elephant that was left behind from the herd. At that time, dozens of wild elephants have successfully herded away from the local village, but one tail was left behind.

"So this herd of wild elephants has been in the village for two nights. Then the residents asked for help from the BPBD to carry out the escort. The victim joined the escort", said Masmiko.
