COVID-19 Update As Of July 4: 27,233 New Positive Cases, Jakarta Contributes 10,485 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released data on the progress of handling COVID-19. Based on the results of the examination of 120,834 specimens as of July 4, there were 27,233 confirmed positive cases.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 2,284,084 people", quoted from Ministry of Health data, Sunday, July 4.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases increased by 13,127 people. Thus, the cumulative total recovered cases reached 1,928,274 people.

On the other hand, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 has increased by 555 people. With this addition, the cumulative total of deaths to 60,582 people.

Still referring to the data from the Ministry of Health, for the province with the highest number of additional positive cases, DKI Jakarta. 10,485 people have tested positive for COVID-19.

Then, the second province with the most positive cases of COVID-19 was West Java with 4,458 cases. Furthermore, Central Java with 2,955 cases, DIY with 1,615 cases, and East Java with 1,468 positive cases of COVID-19

Despite being at the peak of adding positive cases, DKI Jakarta Province is also recorded with the most recovered cases. Around 5,816 people have recovered from COVID-19.

In the second place, West Java Province with 2,107 recovered cases. Then, Central Java Province with 900 cases, East Java with 729 cases, and DIY with 524 recovered cases.

So far, 4 provinces have reported additional cases below 10 and 3 provinces without positive cases.

Furthermore, the number of specimens that have been examined has reached 20,489,937. In detail, as many as 16,681,424 specimens were examined using real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), 193,923 specimens using the molecular rapid test (TCM), and 3,614,590 specimens by antigen examination.

"The number of positive results per day with the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) is 42.13 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 135,120 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
