Be Alert, This Is A BMKG Warning For A Number Of Areas In Indonesia That Have The Potential For Heavy Rain Hujan

JAKARTA - Before you do any activity, it's a good idea to know the weather forecast for today. The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has warned a number of areas in Indonesia to have the potential for heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds on Wednesday, June 30.

The regions are West Java, Central Java, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, West Papua and Papuans.

Meanwhile, areas that have the potential for rain that can be accompanied by lightning or thunder and strong winds are Aceh, Bengkulu, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung, Lampung, Banten, DKI Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and East Java. The area that has the potential for strong winds is East Nusa Tenggara.

BMKG also estimates that most parts of Indonesia will be cloudy on Wednesday afternoon. These areas are Jambi, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Jayapura, Manokwari, Pekanbaru and Palembang.

The areas that are predicted to be cloudy are Denpasar, Bengkulu, Yogyakarta, Central Jakarta, Gorontalo, Tarakan, Pangkal Pinang, Bandar Lampung, Kupang and Padang. Banda Aceh is expected to be sunny.

The areas that are expected to receive light rain are Serang, Palangkaraya, Samarinda, Tanjung Pinang, Mataram, Mamuju and Medan. Areas that are expected to rain moderately are Pontianak, Ambon, Kendari, and Manado. Banjarmasin is expected to experience thunderstorms.
