KMP Yunicee Drowning In Gilimanuk Bali, Victim's Family Went To Ketapang Pier

The latest conditions at the Ketapang Port of Banyuwangi during the evacuation of survivors from the sinking of KMP Yunicee (Reza M)

BANYUWANGI - A number of survivors from the sinking of KMP Yunicee in Gilimanuk waters, Bali were evacuated to Ketapang Harbor, Banyuwangi, East Java.

The victims were evacuated by a ferry near the location of the sinking of KMP Yunicee. The survivors were then taken to a nearby hospital.

From observations at the Ketapang Harbor pier, a number of ambulances were alerted to evacuate victims.

"All family and friends please go to the north post, the victim will be taken to the north post," said the officer at Ketapang Port through loudspeakers, Tuesday, June 29.

Several families of the victims were seen crying hysterically. They were taken to the nearest post.

The KMP Yunicee ship sank in Gilimanuk waters on a voyage from Ketapang.

The head of the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office, Gede Darmada, said the ship was drifting south from Gilimanuk Harbor. At that time the condition of the ship tilted and immediately sank in the south of Gilimanuk Harbor.

"Currently, the Jembrana and Buleleng SAR Post Rescue Teams are moving towards the Gilimanuk Port LKP," he said.

Meanwhile, Jembrana Police Chief AKBP I Ketut Gede Adi Wibawa said there were 4 people who died from the sinking of KMP Yunicee in Gilimanuk.

"Four (who were recently found dead). Now we will direct them to Gilimanuk Health Center," he said.
