BANDUNG - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) temporarily closed the Bandung City Hall and a number of official offices until July 5. The closure was carried out following a case of COVID-19 spreading within the state civil apparatus (ASN)

Deputy Mayor of Bandung Yana Mulyana said so far there were around 300 ASN who had been exposed to COVID-19. Even so, according to him, sectors related to public services are still operating normally.

"So it was decided to close the activities at the City Hall, but those related to services will remain open so that no one will interfere with public services," Yana said in Bandung, West Java, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 28.

According to Yana, every day there has been an increase in COVID-19 cases in the Bandung City Government. So now all ASN who are not related to public services, are asked to work from home.

"Because it keeps adding up in this section, it gets hit here and there. The Ministry of Education gets hit suddenly. There are additions every day," said Yana.

According to Yana, the closure will be seen this week until July 5, 2021, but she hopes that the temporary closure will not be extended.

"Hopefully, it's the City Government's efforts, the key is to limit the spread of mobility," he said.

Therefore, Yana asked the public to strictly adhere to health protocols. In addition, he asked people not to leave their homes if there is no urgent need.

"Currently we are at high risk, I hope the community not to leave their homes if there is no important need, because based on these indicators there has been an extraordinary increase," said Yana.
