MEDAN - Police arrested a husband and wife (couple) who stole motorbikes in the courtyard of the Baiturrahman Mosque, Jalan Gaharu, East Medan District, Medan.
East Medan Police Chief Kompol M Arifin said the perpetrators were Riki Imama Sari (31) and Destri Ayu Susanti (33), residents of Bahbolon Village Talk, Tebing Tinggi City. Both were arrested on the report of the victim Nazaruddin Samium (56), a resident of Jalan Gaharu, District of East Medan.
Arifin said the theft was discovered when the victim finished praying and was about to go home.
"The victim saw that his motorbike which was parked in the mosque's yard was gone. Then the victim came to the Medan Timur Police to make a police report," said Arifin, Monday, June 28.

After finding out the culprit, the police then arrested the two suspects at their boarding house on Jalan Gaharu, Gaharu Village, East Medan District.
"We have secured the suspect along with evidence of the victim's motorbike which has not been sold yet," said Commissioner Arifin.
During the initial examination, the two suspects admitted to taking the victim's motorbike in the mosque's yard.
"The suspect Riki used a T key to take the victim's motorbike. After the ignition was opened, the two suspects immediately took the victim's motorbike away," said Arifin.
