JAKARTA - The police are a thief of LPG gas cylinders with the initials LAP. The perpetrators have carried out their actions in 14 locations since March.

"This is quite disturbing with the same incident, the same mode", said South Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Azis Andriansyah, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 24.

According to him, LAP was arrested on Friday, June 18, with evidence in the form of gas cylinders containing 21 tubes of various sizes.

From the suspect's confession, the stolen goods were then sold at a cheaper price in the market to get money quickly.

Azis added that the official price of 12-kilogram LPG gas cylinders reached IDR 130-150 thousand. However, the perpetrators sold them for IDR 80 thousand with random targets to several shops so that they sold quickly.

Not only stalls but the theft was also carried out by the perpetrators targeting residents' homes and LPG agents.

There were also 14 locations targeted by the perpetrators, including Cipete, Kebayoran Lama, Kebayoran Baru, Cilandak, and Mampang.

"Daily the profits are used for daily life to feed his wife and children", said Azis.

The perpetrator is an unemployed who previously was a drug addict but underwent rehabilitation. The perpetrator is currently languishing in the South Jakarta Metro Police detention cell with the threat of seven years in prison.
