Ministry of Law and Human Rights Take Over Management Of Tangerang Babakan Market

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law and Human Rights takes over the management of Babakan Market, Cikokol, Tangerang City. This takeover is a follow-up to the recommendation of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) regarding the management of land belonging to the ministry.

"The BPK's recommendation regarding the issue of state asset management, especially in the management of the Babakan Market, is a serious concern", said Head of the Finance Bureau of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Wisnu Nugroho Dewanto, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 23.

According to him, managing finances and state property is not an easy thing because many things must be considered and obeyed. The process of managing state property will be fulfilled properly if the conditions of administrative order, legal order, and physical order are achieved.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Legal Advocacy sub-section of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Taufik Sabarudin, said that the main objective of controlling the market is to comply with the applicable laws and regulations regarding the management of state property, including potential non-tax state revenues (PNBP).

"We want to arrange it based on the rules, that's all. If there is a potential income for the state, we must deposit it into the state treasury", said Taufik.

Charges that may have been taken from traders and currently become income for managers or individuals are not at all justified. Because the retribution should go into the state treasury.

He hopes that traders can understand the real rules, especially regarding levies. It's not at all to ban or expel traders, it's just that there may be income that must be deposited into the state treasury.

When carrying out order and socialization to traders in the form of installing banners and stickers, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights team consisting of the General Bureau, Public Relations, Law and Cooperation Bureau, and the State Property Management Bureau cooperated with the Tangerang City Police Metro.

The installation of attributes aimed at educating all parties regarding market management has turned to the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights so that all forms of payment are considered invalid if they do not get permission from the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the Ministry of Finance.

"Therefore, we have taken over the management, starting from now on based on the banners that we have put up", he said.

The installation is legally binding, so if anyone removes or removes the banner or sticker, it will have legal implications.

Head of the State Property Management Sub-Section of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Adi Gunawan, said that since the establishment of the market, there has never been a PNBP deposit to the state treasury.

"In the future, we have to propose to the Ministry of Finance to calculate the size of the market and calculate how much income and how much money is paid to the state per year", said Adi.

On the other hand, Adi is grateful if there are parties who try to take legal action in the takeover of market management. This is because the legality of market management can be made clear through the legal process.

"Let's be clear. Traders will not be worried, that's what we take care of", he said.
