JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared a truck to transport coffins containing bodies that were positive for COVID-19 to public cemeteries (TPU).

The head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Financial Management Agency (BPKD), Edi Sumantri, stated this during a public hearing with Commission E of the DKI DPRD in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Wednesday, June 23.

Edi said the driver and ambulance were unable to bring the COVID-19 body to the TPU because they were physically exhausted.

"Today it will be lifted because an ambulance is no longer possible, while with a truck with a capacity of one truck eight crates", said Edi.

Edi said the number of deaths from COVID-19 victims in DKI Jakarta was quite high. As of this Wednesday at 18.00 WIB, 146 people died from COVID-19.

"The highest wave one was 75 people, the highest in the first wave this year", Edi detailed.

Edi also said that the DKI Provincial Government had increased the budget for incentives for handling COVID-19, such as IDR 4.6 billion for curing personnel, procurement of coffins (IDR 5.2 billion), masks (IDR 3.1 billion), the Parks Service (IDR 13.02 billion), Social Service for Cash Social Assistance (IDR 9 billion).

"The inspectorate has assistance and supervision of IDR 5.8 billion and BPBD of IDR 467 billion", said Edi.

In addition, the task force's transportation incentives were twice for a total of IDR 933 billion, DLH (IDR 502 billion), Civil Service Police Unit (IDR 9.10 billion), Jakarta Raya Military Regional Command of PPKM (Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities) activities (IDR 8.2 billion), DKI Transportation Agency (IDR 140 million, IDR 243 million, and IDR 294 million).
