2 Men In Bali Break British and Swedish Tourists Villa, Hundreds Of Millions Of Money Stolen

BADUNG - Two men in Bali named Muhammad Defri Hermanto (26) and Adi Maola Buana (32) broke into a villa occupied by foreign tourists in the North Kuta area, Badung, Bali. The robbers stole hundreds of millions of rupiahs.

"The two perpetrators are from outside Bali and they are not related, yes, different reports. From suspect Adi Maola, IDR 41 million was obtained, while from suspect Muhammad Defri, it was IDR 300 million", said Badung Police Chief AKBP Roby Septiadi, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 22.

He said there were two foreign tourists, namely from England and Sweden, who were victims of this theft case.

Initially, the suspect Muhammad Defri entered the villa and looked for a safe containing valuables in the form of cash and gold jewelry.

Furthermore, on Sunday, June 20 at around 11.00 WITA, the victim named Simon Andrew Crowe was on his way home from Surabaya to Bali and received news that several dollars and his jewelry had disappeared. This British tourist suffered a loss of IDR 300 million and a gold necklace.

Second, the suspect, Adi Maola Buana, who is a former worker at the villa, stalked the location where the victim lived. Then, on the afternoon of June 12, when the atmosphere was quiet, the suspect immediately took the victim's belongings.

The victim named Malin Karllsson from Sweden suffered a loss of up to IDR 41 million, with one piece of evidence in the form of a laptop and a cell phone each.

For these actions, the two perpetrators were subject to Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum threat of 7 years in prison, said the Badung Police Chief.
