Only One COVID-19 Isolation Room Left, Graha Wisata TMII Almost Full

JAKARTA - The location for the isolation of COVID-19 patients at Graha Wisata Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta, was almost full today.

Head of the Administration Subdivision of the Pavilion and Graha Wisata Management Unit of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy, Ranty Ariany, said that currently TMII is filled with 67 COVID-19 isolation patients.

"The number of COVID-19 patients in the asymptomatic category (OTG) is 69 people", Ranty said in a written statement, Tuesday, June 22.

Previously on Monday, June 21, Graha Wisata TMII was filled with 70 patients. Then, there were 3 additional COVID-19 patients and 4 people were allowed to go home.

Ranty said that her party provides 33 isolation rooms that can accommodate 2 to 3 patients per room. Currently, only one room is left for OTG patients.

"The number of rooms used is 32 rooms, the remaining rooms are 1 room", she said.

Separately, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan admitted that the capacity of isolation beds and ICUs at COVID-19 referral hospitals was running low, and even almost collapsed.

The bed capacity or bed occupation ratio for isolation of COVID-19 patients currently reaches 90 percent. Meanwhile, the bed occupation ratio for the ICU specifically for COVID-19 reached 81 percent. In fact, the DKI Provincial Government has recently increased the number to a total of 10 thousand beds.

"This sends a message to all of us that we are adding beds, increasing hospital capacity, but the increase is too fast", Anies said at DKI City Hall.

Therefore, Anies admitted that his party had added 34 COVID-19 referral hospitals since June 17. Currently, there are a total of 140 referral hospitals. In total, there are 8,524 isolation beds and 1,186 ICU rooms.

"If only last week the capacity had not been increased, it would have reached 100 percent. Now there is room for additional hospitals (referrals)", he said.
