Sad News From West Bangka, 33 People Died Due To COVID-19

JAKARTA - The West Bangka Regency COVID-19 Control Task Force, Bangka Belitung Islands Province said the number of positive patients for the coronavirus who died today increased by two, bringing the total to 33 cases.

"There were 33 deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic, out of a total of 2.464 cases found in West Bangka", said Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Control Task Force for West Bangka Regency, M. Putra Kusuma in Mentok, as reported by Antara, Friday, June 18.

The two patients who died, namely Mrs. JH (55), a resident of Bukit Rantau, Parittiga, who died at Medika Stania Hospital and has been buried in the Kelabat Village Public Cemetery, Parittiga.

The patient had previously been diagnosed with COVID-19 from a PCR examination at the Bakti Timah Hospital on June 17, 2021.

Meanwhile, in the second case, on behalf of Mr. An (60), a resident of Sungaibaru, Mentok died at the Bakti Timah Hospital and had previously been examined using the PCR swab test at the Bangka Belitung Province Health Lab on June 12, 2021.

Mr. An's body was buried in the Jelutung neighborhood cemetery, Sungailiat, Bangka Regency.

"The two patients who died also had comorbidities and had been buried using the COVID-19 burial procedure. We are sorry for the death of our brother", he said.

In addition to the increase in the number of cases of death, today there were also five additional patients who were declared cured or finished quarantine and isolation, from Mentok one person, Parittiga and Tempilang each one person.

For the addition of new cases, 16 cases were found, from Mentok 12 and Kelapa four people, bringing the total number of patients who are still required to be quarantined to 88 people.

"The total number of cases found was 2.464 cases, while those who had recovered or finished quarantine were 2.343 people", he said.
