Held Village Tourism Festival, Bogor Regency Government Prepares Prizes Of Up To Rp1.5 Billion

BOGOR - The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Bogor, West Java, initiated the Village Tourism Festival. The purpose of this activity is to boost the potential of rural-based tourism. The total prize is not small.

"The Village Tourism Festival is an event to strengthen Sport and Tourism which aims to develop the rural-based tourism sector," said Bogor Regent Ade Yasin after the Wednesday Patrol or Boling activity in Klapanunggal, Bogor, Wednesday, June 16, as reported by Antara.

According to him, the village that was chosen as the winner in the event would serve as a model for other villages and receive a prize fund for tourism development in their area.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of the Bogor Regency Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar), Mely Kamelia said the total prize provided was Rp1.5 billion.

He said participants could register for the Village Tourism Festival by uploading videos containing tourism potential, both managed and untouched by the community.

"As we know, the majority of Bogor Regency is rural and has different tourism potentials," said Mely.

The Bogor Regency Development Acceleration Team, Saepudin Muhtar alias Gus Udin explained, the Village Tourism Festival is aimed at developing rural tourism potential which is currently not being maximized so that the economy at the village level can develop.

"We must further increase this potential without destroying nature. If this tourist village does not damage nature, it is only organized and managed," said Gus Udin.

According to him, of the hundreds of villages in Bogor Regency that have tourism potential, 35 of them are now tourism villages, one of which is Tugu Selatan Village, which the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahudin Uno visited last month.
