Assign Cadres To Help People, PDIP Secretary General Hasto: The 2024 Presidential Election Is Already In Stages!

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P Hasto Kristiyanto said his party continues to monitor the surge in COVID-19 cases in various regions.

Moreover, according to data received by his party, the spike in positive cases is very worrying, especially in DKI Jakarta, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, East Java, Central Java, and Banten.

"The increase in COVID-19 sufferers is very large. Even the data in Jakarta has such a large spike. On this basis, all party members and cadres are assigned to focus on helping the people, maximizing mutual cooperation, and placing the handling of COVID-19 as a top priority. COVID-19 19 and its variants cannot be underestimated," said Hasto, quoted from his written statement, Tuesday, June 15.

He also reminded his cadres not to respond to political fritters related to the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres), especially regarding presidential and vice presidential candidates.

The cadres, continued Hasto, were asked to focus on the priority scale of helping the people because the choice regarding the contestation would be determined by the Chairperson of the PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri.

"The 2024 presidential election has already reached its stages. The prerogative regarding candidate pairs is in the hands of the Party Chair, Megawati Soekarnoputri. That is why communication discipline is enforced. All Party cadres must focus on programs to overcome the pandemic," he said

Hasto said there have been a number of programs launched by the party to help deal with COVID-19. These include helping enforce discipline on health protocols, as well as preventive programs by living a healthy life, increasing the body's immune system, and encouraging the movement to plant edible plants.

In addition, the mutual cooperation program for people exposed to COVID-19 must also continue. "Because the party is one with the lifeblood of the people," he said.

Furthermore, regarding the increase in positive cases of COVID-19, Hasto also announced that the PDI-P DPP Office would resume working from home. "As of today, it was decided for some to work from home," he concluded.
