In 2 Days, 16 COVID-19 Patients In North Sumatra Died

MEDAN - Data from North Sumatra COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) shows that the number of death cases has continued to increase in the last two days, from June 13-14 there were 16 COVID-19 patients who died.

"In total, from June 13 to 14, 2021, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 increased by 16 people," said the spokesman for the North Sumatra COVID-19 Task Force, Dr. Aris Yudhariansyah, in Medan, as quoted by Antara, Monday, June 14.

For COVID-19 death cases as of June 13, there were seven more people from Medan City, and nine more people on June 14.

Aris named the nine patients who died today, three each from Batubara and two from Medan, Deli Serdang, and Dairi.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed COVID-19 in North Sumatra has also increased. Until June 14, the accumulation reached 33,506 people, after the addition of 193 new cases in a day.

Aris said the 193 new cases were obtained from Medan City 61 people, Simalungun 48 people, Karo 29 people, Deli Serdang 17 people, North Tapanuli 11 people, Dairi 9 people, Padangsidimpuan and Batubara seven people, and Tanjungbalai four people.

However, the recovery rate has also increased. It was recorded that 119 people were added from five regencies/cities, bringing the total to 29,811 people.

"A total of 119 patients recovered from Dairi 40 people, Medan 32 people, Deli Serdang 24 people, Batubara 15 people, and Karo 8 people," said Aris.
