JAKARTA - Good news for the residents of Jalan Pancing I, Kelurahan Besar, Medan Labuhan District. Their road, which has been damaged so far, is confirmed by Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution that it will be repaired next month.

Prior to repairs, damaged roads will be filled in first. In addition to minimizing the occurrence of accidents, preventing damage from getting worse due to being inundated with water during heavy rains.

Bobby Nasution conveyed the certainty of the repair of Pancing I Road during a review, Monday, June 14.

"God willing, we will do repairs next month (July). The road is not paved, but casted to last longer. Because this road is often crossed by trucks with heavy tonnage,” said Bobby Nasution in Medan, Monday, June 14.

Bobby Nasution made this affirmation after hearing complaints from local residents. As a result of the damaged roads, not a few local residents and motorcyclists have had accidents. "In fact, some have even died," said a resident named Sunarti (50).

Bobby Nasution also expressed his concern. Therefore, repairs will be carried out as soon as possible. “Before we concrete, we fill the road first. The road will be 1.1 km long with good quality concrete. The work is planned for 5 months," he explained.

After concreting, Mayor Bobby Nasution said the related OPD would coordinate with a number of companies in the area. This is because their trucks often pass by with loads so that it becomes one of the causes of road damage. "We ask the existing companies to take care of the road which will be finished with the concrete," he continued.

In addition to inspecting the damaged roads, Bobby Nasution, who was accompanied by the Assistant for Economics and Development for the City of Medan, Khairul Syahnan, and the Head of Public Works for the City of Medan, Zulfansyah, also inspected the drainage. This is because water always inundates the road because there is no channel for drainage.

“Besides concreting the road, I ask the Head of Public Works and the Head of the Medan Labuhan Sub-district to pay attention to drainage. Never again, stagnant water on the road. It's the same as a road that has been concreted if it continues to be flooded, it will be damaged again," he reminded.

The local residents seemed happy to hear Bobby Nasution's explanation. This is because road damage has been going on for years without any repairs being done. Residents also thanked Bobby Nasution for his quick response to residents' complaints.
