SOLO - The Surakarta City Government (Pemkot) has banned traders using cars from selling in Solo. This was done following the findings of 5 traders who were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

"Actually, they were not allowed from the start, but were desperate to sell," said the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka in Solo, Central Java, as reported by Antara, Monday, June 14.

He said the Solo City Government only allowed car traders to supply merchandise, they could not stop selling.

This rule was confirmed in line with the issuance of the latest Circular Letter on the Implementation of Micro-Scale Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) which is planned to be implemented in the near future.

"I will emphasize in the latest SE later, even if you bring the swab results, negative antigens are still not allowed. Sorry, because yesterday there were five who were positive. Even if it's not COVID-19, it's also not allowed. You can only drop goods, not for sale. ," he said.

He said that in the future the supervision will be carried out by Surakarta City Satpol PP officers with the support of the TNI/Polri.

Meanwhile, Solo City Satpol PP Head, Arif Darmawan, said that he would carry out surveillance to ensure the entry of car traders, especially in the North Square area of the Solo Palace.

"But they come every Monday and Thursday. So we carry out surveillance on those days. We do this at night," he said.

Previously, the Chief Executive of the Surakarta City COVID-19 Task Force, Ahyani, said that five traders had tested positive for COVID-19. This finding was made after a random antigen swab test was carried out by the Surakarta City COVID-19 Task Force Team.

"They are all residents of Jepara, although they are not residents of Solo, they are the responsibility of the Solo City Government," he said.

He said that currently the five were placed in the Haji Donohudan Dormitory to undergo centralized isolation until they tested negative for COVID-19.
