Gerindra: Prabowo's Readiness To Become A Presidential Candidate Announced At The Official Forum Not A Podcast

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Habiburokhman, said the party's internal party was still waiting for an official statement from the general chairman, Prabowo Subianto, regarding his readiness to run as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

He said this in response to Prabowo's statement that he was considered ready to run for the presidency in a video podcast on Deddy Corbuzier's Youtube channel.

Regarding this, Habiburokhman admitted that he did not want to rush to conclusions. Because he said Prabowo's remarks were not conveyed in an official forum.

"We will wait for an official one from him, right. Later in the official forum we will ask if on the podcast we don't know," said Habiburokhman at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, June 14.

The member of Commission III of the DPR emphasized that Prabowo's serious answer to the 2024 presidential election would only be announced and discussed in internal party activities.

"For Gerindra, the moment will usually be at the Congress or National Work Meeting closest to the election," explained Habiburokhman.

It is known that Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto is considered willing to be a presidential candidate (candidate) in the 2024 presidential election. This was conveyed by Prabowo in response to Deddy Corbuzier's question.

Previously, Deddy did mention the possibility of Prabowo running for the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election.

"If you are given the opportunity to serve and you are given the opportunity to be trusted, given the opportunity, why not?," Prabowo said on Deddy Corbuzier's Youtube channel, Sunday, June 13.

However, Prabowo said, there are many factors to be able to participate in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election (pilpres). For example, it is related to the support of political parties (parpol).

"We can't go on alone. There must be friends. There must be left and right support, right? We are realistic," Prabowo explained.

Prabowo said that all people who love the country are certainly willing if given the opportunity to serve.
