JAKARTA - The drug network associated with Muhammad Ridwan alias Bos Gendut turns out to not only be related to the circulation of narcotics. The group is also suspected of having access to illegal firearms.

Director of Enforcement and Pursuit (Dakjar) of the BNN, Brigadier General Roy Hardi Siahaan said, in the case that ensnared the Fat Boss earlier, the police found a number of dangerous evidence, including seven firearms.

The Fat Boss, who is a fugitive from the Kampung Bahari drug network, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, was again arrested in a joint operation by the BNN RI, Polda Metro Jaya, BNNP DKI Jakarta, and BNNK North Jakarta on Thursday, August 12, 2026.

"This arrest is a follow-up to the October 2025 anti-narcotics village operation, in which the perpetrator (Fat Boss) fled after being caught in a case of possession of 98 kg of methamphetamine, cash Rp1.4 billion, various precious metals, and seven guns," said Roy Hardi.

In the latest operation to arrest the Fat Boss, officers again found equipment related to firearms.

From the results of the search of a number of locations in the Bahari Village area, officers secured one firearm, one long barrel, 54 rounds of 9 mm caliber sharp bullets, 71 rubber bullets, and a gun holster.

In addition to weapons and ammunition, the joint team also seized two vehicles, namely a white BMW X1 B 1972 KWE and a black Mitsubishi Xpander. Other evidence is in the form of digital scales, CCTV devices, HT communication equipment, and iPhone mobile phones.

The search was carried out at a number of locations suspected to be related to the drug network, including the Fat Boss's residence on Jalan Bak Air and Jalan Samudra. Officers also searched the house of A alias Lopes and a dealer with the initials Kimmul in the Jalan Bak Air area, Tanjung Priok.

The existence of firearms and ammunition shows the potential security threat posed by the drug network to the community.

The operation was also heated when a number of residents resisted by throwing fireworks at the officers. The joint team then used tear gas to disperse the crowd and secure the perimeter of the operation.

In addition to Muhammad Ridwan alias Bos Gendut, officers also secured three other people suspected of playing a role as drug dealers in the area.

All the suspects and evidence were then taken to the North Jakarta BNNK Office to undergo examination and investigation related to the narcotics network and the possession of the weapons found.

BNN RI together with the Metro Jaya Police ensured that action would continue to be taken against the drug network in Kampung Bahari to break the chain of narcotics circulation as well as prevent the use of illegal weapons that have the potential to threaten public safety.
