PPDS Doctor Missing After Leaving Siak Hospital, Found Dead in Bush

SIAK - A doctor participating in the Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) was found dead in a bush beside the fence of the Tengku Rafian Hospital, Kampung Dalam Village, Siak Regency, Riau, Tuesday, July 14. Police are still investigating the cause of the resident doctor's death.

Kasatreskrim of the Siak Police, AKP Raja Kosmos, said the victim was named Alex Cristo Loris (31), a resident doctor of anesthesia who was undergoing a study assignment at the Tengku Rafian Hospital.

According to Raja, the victim was reported missing since Monday, July 13 evening after leaving the hospital environment. Based on surveillance camera (CCTV) footage, the victim was seen walking out of the RSUD area at around 18.06 WIB.

"The victim's body was found next to the fence of the Tengku Rafian Hospital. The victim is a doctor who is undergoing a study assignment as an anesthesia resident at the hospital," said Raja Kosmos, Wednesday, July 15.

He explained that the victim had only started working at the Tengku Rafian Hospital since July 1, 2026 and lived in the hospital mess. After being declared missing, security officers along with the hospital conducted a search since Monday evening.

The victim was finally found at around 11.30 WIB on Tuesday in a bush next to the hospital fence.

"The victim lives in the hospital mess. The victim has disappeared since Monday and left the hospital at 18.06 WIB. The search for the victim was carried out since the evening and was found by security personnel. The mobile phone in the bag was inactive. A number of personal items were also found at the location, including headsets, ampoules, and syringes," he said.

Security officers then reported the findings to the Siak Police. The police immediately carried out an investigation at the crime scene and evacuated the body for investigation purposes.

Raja said, based on the initial examination, there were no signs of violence on the victim's body. However, the exact cause of death is still pending the results of the autopsy.

"We did not find any signs of violence. We immediately sent the body to Bhayangkara Hospital, Riau Police for an autopsy," he said.

The Siak Police are still investigating the case and are waiting for the results of the autopsy and further examination to determine the cause of the victim's death.
