JAKARTA - The Central Leadership Council of the National Asset Rescue Operations Team of the Republic of Indonesia (DPP TOPAN RI) reported a beauty doctor, dr. Anggi Aprilyani M.Biomed., AAM, Dipl. CIBTAC, to the Polda Metro Jaya for alleged blasphemy.
The report was registered on Sunday (12/7/2026) and received by the Polda Metro Jaya with the Letter of Acceptance of the Report (STTLP) Number STTLP/B/5086/VII/2026/SKPT/Polda Metro Jaya.
The reporter is the Chairman of the DPP for Religious Harmony of the DPP TOPAN RI, Benny Pardede, together with the General Chairman of the DPP TOPAN RI, Sumondang Simangunsong.
"We have officially reported the person concerned for alleged blasphemy as regulated in Article 300 and/or Article 301 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code to the Polda Metro Jaya," Benny Pardede told reporters, Monday, July 13.
According to Benny, the report was based on a video uploaded on social media when dr. Anggi was at a Catholic church in Manchester, England. In the video, the report was said to have made a statement claiming to want to vomit when seeing the worship activities at the church.
"We assess that the statement is suspected of insulting, defaming, and hurting the feelings of Catholics around the world, especially Catholics in Indonesia," he said.
Benny emphasized that the Catholic religion is one of the religions recognized in Indonesia so that every citizen must respect the beliefs of others.
"No one should do any act or statement that insults, discredits, or discriminates against the teachings and beliefs of other people's religions," he said.
He added that although Dr. Anggi had apologized publicly through social media, he said that this did not remove the legal process that had been reported.
"The apology does not mean eliminating the crime that is suspected to have been committed," said Benny.
DPP TOPAN RI hopes that the police will immediately follow up on the report by summoning the parties concerned to be questioned in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
"This report is a form of deterrent for the accused and a lesson for the public about the importance of maintaining attitudes for the creation of harmony between religious communities," said Benny.
